Title: Nur Energie briefs German Parliamentarians about benefits for solar energy exports

On 26 May 2011, Nur Energie’s COO Dr. Till Stenzel presented at a parliamentary breakfast briefing in Berlin how Germany can benefit from importing clean solar electricity from North Africa.

Outlining the progress that Nur Energie has made in its work on the TuNur project linking Tunisia’s sunny deserts with Europe, Dr. Stenzel concluded: “Projects like TuNur can provide a real win-win opportunity both for Tunisia and Europe. Tunisia can significantly benefit from local job creation and the economic development opportunities that solar plants bring to the country, while Europe can get solar electricity that is competitively priced and can be delivered with a predictable schedule, avoiding the difficulties of intermittency in delivering the power to European electricity networks.”
